BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont will join in the nationwide effort to raise awareness for breast cancer research through its annual "Rally Against Cancer" initiative presented by Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets.
"We are so proud to be part of such a fun and meaningful effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer," said Todd Warren, Owner and President of Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets. "Join us at the pink games and help us to support the amazing work being done at the Vermont Cancer Center."
The University of Vermont teams will be participate in raising awareness at the following games:
October 5 - Field Hockey vs. Sacred Heart, 1 p.m.
October 12 - Women's Soccer vs. UMass Lowell, 1 p.m.
October 25 - Men's Soccer vs. Hartford, 1 p.m.
November 15 - Women's Swimming and Diving vs. CCSU & Merrimack, 2 p.m.
February 14 - Men's Basketball vs. UMBC, 2 p.m.
February 18 - Women's Basketball vs. Maine, 7 p.m.
The "Rally Against Cancer" initiative continues with a series of men's and women's hockey and lacrosse games, dates will be released later this fall.
In recognition of the ongoing fight against cancer, all teams will be wearing special edition "pink" jerseys and/or shoelaces during their respective games. An online auction will be held the week of each game for men's and women's hockey, basketball and women's soccer, where fans can bid on a game worn "pink" jersey. All Rally Against Cancer initiatives raise awareness in support of breast cancer research and education efforts happening at the Vermont Cancer Center at the University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Health Care.
Tickets are on sale now for men's and women's "Rally Against Cancer" soccer games. Tickets can be purchased online at
