BOSTON – The 2015 America East Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams were announced on Wednesday. The Catamounts were represented by three second-team selections –
Nikki McFarland,
Caroline Greer and
Sarah Martin, while freshman
Casey Garfinkel was named to the all-rookie squad.

Buy TicketsMcFarland, the 2013 America East Rookie of the Year, earns a spot on the all-conference second team for the second time in her career. She leads the team in scoring with six goals and 14 points and ranks sixth in goals and eighth in points among the league leaders.
Her game-winning tally in the 72nd minute at Binghamton on Sunday propelled Vermont into the America East Playoffs for the fourth time in head coach
Kristi Lefebvre's five seasons at the helm of the program.
Greer, a senior captain, earns her first spot on an all-conference team. She has started all 16 games and has been a solid presence midfield for the Catamounts over the past two seasons. Greer enters the America East Playoffs having played in 66 career matches.
Martin, an America East All-Rookie selection a year ago, has registered eight points on three goals and a pair of assists this season. She netted the game-winning goal to lift Vermont past UMBC, 3-2, in double overtime earlier this year. It was one of her two tallies in the match against the Retrievers.
Garfinkel has made an immediate impact on the UVM defensive unit in her first season. She earned a start in her first career game and has been in the starting lineup in 15 of the 16 matches she has played. She netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Kent State in her third career collegiate match.
The third seeded Catamounts host No. 6 UMBC in an America East Playoff game on Thursday (Oct. 29) at 7 p.m. The match will be the first-ever night game at Virtue Field.
