Description

The Backyard Woods Program is a six-week online program that using a combination of video's, webinars, discussion forums and weekly activities to explore your backyard woods. The program begins with an introduction to your backyard woods and its role as part of Vermont’s forested landscape. Next we head into the woods to explore how it works and what's (plants and animals) is in your woods. Then we dive into planning to help you reach your backyard woods in them! Upon completion of the 6 weeks program, you will have a backyard woods action plan based on your interests and an inventory of your woods! Whether you own 2 acres or 20 acres, this program will help you make the most out of the woods in your backyard!

Course Details: The online course will begin the week of February 19 and run through the week of March 27th. Participants will also be invited to a Backyard Woods Field Day on Saturday, April 1st. The course is limited to residents of Windsor & Windham Counties. We do plan to offer the course in additional counties in the future. Interested, but not a homeowner in Windsor or Windham County? Registration: The course costs $50, which includes a course manual, a tree identification book, and a hands-on session. Registration deadline is February 13th.
