BURLINGTON, Vt. - Former two-time America East Player of the Year
Anthony Lamb '20 has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Detroit Pistons. An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed one-year, minimum salary deal that allows a player to make a bonus of up to $50,000 if he is waived and remains on the franchise's G League squad for at least 60 days. The announcement was made on Monday.
As a senior, Lamb, paced the team with a 16.7 scoring average, 7.1 rebounds per game, and 41 total blocks. He produced six double-doubles, including 23 points and 13 rebounds in a 70-68 win at St. John's last November as he hit the game-winning shot in the final seconds. He also racked up 30 points at defending national champion Virginia and became the fourth player to drop 30 points on the Cavaliers at JPJ Arena during the Tony Bennett era.
During his four-year career at Vermont, the 6-6 forward was named America East Player of the Year as a junior and senior. He was a three-time U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District I Team selection and Player of the Year in 2019. The Rochester, New York native earned Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention honors following his junior season.
Lamb and the Class of 2020 guided the Green and Gold to 109 career wins – the most by an America East graduating class – and a 59-5 league record. He helped the Catamounts win three America East crowns in 2017, 2019, and 2020 with three All-Championship Team nods.
Lamb will report to the Pistons' NBA Training Camp on Tuesday, Dec. 1 and the 2020-21 season is scheduled to start three weeks later on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
