CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – University of Vermont seniors
Sam Chevalier and
Ilsa Feierabend were named America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes.
The league announced a total of 41 student-athletes across 16 sports were recipients of the honor, which recognizes student-athletes who compiled a GPA of 3.75 or higher as an undergraduate student and graduated this spring.

America East Release Chevalier, a member of the track and field team, graduated with a 3.93 GPA as an electrical engineering major. He finished in the top 10 in the pole vault at the America East Outdoor Championships this season.
Feierabend, a member of the women's swimming and diving team, was the recipient of the athletic department's Wasson Athletic Prize as the top female scholar-athlete in the senior class. She graduated with a 3.78 GPA as a communications sciences and disorders major with a minor in gerontology.
Feierabend, who was also a nominee for America East Woman of the Year, was named to the America East All-Academic Team for the second straight season. A team captain this season, she was an America East All-Conference selection for the second straight year. She posted the second fastest time in the backstroke at the America East Championships and was a member of the relay squad that set a new varsity record in the 400-medley relay.
The Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award was approved by the America East Board of Presidents in June of 2013 and implemented for the 2013-14 academic year.
