Early Childhood Professional Development Director

3/27/2024:

CDCI is looking for an Early Childhood Professional Development Director.

This position will:

  • Coordinate statewide professional learning in Early Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS)/Pyramid Model. This includes training, coaching, and technical assistance.
  • Design a plan to expand the Vermont Early MTSS/Pyramid Model, coordinating with the Vermont Agency of Education (AoE) and other Vermont early childhood organizations.
  • Provide virtual and on-site (local, regional, and statewide) consultation and technical assistance to schools and human service organizations.
  • Design and develop written materials about best practices with Early MTSS/Pyramid Model. It also includes creating other written documents or grant proposals, reports, and presentations.
  • Supervise coaches trained in Early MTSS/Pyramid Model practices.
  • Design professional development on Early MTSS/Pyramid Model practices.

Pay for this position is budgeted between $70 and $85K per year. The actual number is determined by comparing the successful candidate to other people on campus doing similar work. We also consider relevant years of experience.

Travel to sites within Vermont is required, but a hybrid work solution is possible. This means you could work part-time remotely and part-time on the UVM campus. People with disabilities, and people from other traditionally marginalized groups are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Education
  • 3 years of relevant work experience in education
  • Knowledge of Early MTSS/Pyramid Model framework and practices

This position works with Vermont Early MTSS @ CDCI. This project is based in Mann Hall on the UVM campus. This is a full-time University of Vermont staff position. It is eligible to be part of the UVM Staff Union.

Assistant Director - Baird School and INCLUSION Program

The Assistant Director of the Baird School and INCLUSION Program plays a critical role in providing leadership and support to ensure the effective operations and development of both the Baird School, an intensive special education school serving students with emotional-behavioral challenges, and the INCLUSION Program, a program supporting students with emotional-behavioral challenges in Chittenden County public schools.

This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong commitment to inclusive education and the ability to oversee the operations, staff, and community engagement initiatives of both programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with oversight of all operations and facilities of Baird School/INCLUSION
  • Provides training, supervision, and evaluation of multiple staff.
  • Responsible for the health and safety of Baird School/INCLUSION Program.
  • Participates on Baird School Administrative Team and INCLUSION Leadership Team, agency safety committees and represents the agency/school in community forums.
  • Baird School liaison with Police Departments, Fire and Rescue, and the agency of education school safety leaders.
  • Coordinates all school transportation, school food program, nursing services.
  • Coordinates whole school staff scheduling.

Acute Residential Counselor Adult - Developmental Services (Howard Center)

3/15/24:

Acute Residential Counselor Adult - Developmental Services

Provide intensive clinical support and therapeutic opportunities in both a residential setting and in the community to individuals with cognitive and mental health challenges.

The residential programs are modeled off a home setting serving 3 clients whose needs are complex and range in intensity.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate constructive activities that address goals on a client's Individual Support Agreement (treatment plan)
  • Implement the support and crisis plans (utilizing Therapeutic Options training), in collaboration with the greater treatment team.
  • Facilitate community inclusion, daily living, and skill acquisition
  • Utilization of sound judgement and maintenance of calm demeanor during crisis
  • Provide needed behavioral and/or mental health support
  • Provide needed personal and/or medical care


Requirements:

  • Three to four years of experience in a human services or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill has been acquired
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Routine lifting
  • Valid driver's license, and use of a personal vehicle
  • Ability to work either Saturday or Sunday

Physical Therapist - Pediatrics (Kids' RehabGYM)

Kid’s RehabGYM is a non-profit organization located in Williston, VT. We are passionate about supporting children with special needs and their families. Our highly skilled pediatric physical and occupational therapists provide evidence informed services for children throughout the Vermont North Country and beyond. Out Physical Therapists treat children with congenital, developmental, neurological disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, and children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition, our PT team also provides orthopedic intervention, postural asymmetry, toe walking, pes planus, joint pain or abnormalities, torticollis, and fractures.

We are currently seeking a full-time physical therapist. KRG is looking for a PT who is passionate about providing comprehensive, compassionate, client/family-focused, and evidenced-informed intervention and treatment planning to a diverse pediatric population. This individual should be self-driven, work well within a team, and possess a high ability for problem-solving, flexibility, and self-directed learning. Additionally, the individual must possess the ability to independently perform evaluations and assessments; create and carry out appropriate treatment plans, parent/caregiver education and training with home exercise programs; communicate with pediatricians and referring physicians and be able to complete documentation and discharge planning in a timely manner.

As a small and experienced team of PTs and OTs, we would welcome a new PT graduate who has a strong passion for treating a pediatric population and who is willing to learn from a variety of clinicians. We feel confident that KRG can provide a nurturing and fast paced environment to allow a new clinician to grow into an accomplished professional.

Must have experience parenting a child with a disability or special health need and navigating health care systems. Must be able to work flexible hours, including some Saturdays and evenings.
