Peony Fhagen, a higher education leader for over 20 years, shares her story of intersectionality, invisibility, multiple marginalities, triumph, and resistance personally and professionally. Through this conversational-style presentation, she will discuss how her intersecting identities as a multiracial, Jewish, Black, disabled, cisgender, heterosexual, female-identifying woman have shaped her experiences challenging the status quo in academia from student to professor to administrator. She will also share how her identities and experiences have informed and shaped her liberatory, collaborative, and creative leadership approaches as an administrator.
Open to all UVM staff, faculty, and students.
