UVM Student-Athletes,
UVM Athletics has created this FAQ site for you and your families as a way to respond to the many questions that we know are out there. We will update this list as necessary. If you have specific questions that are not answered here, feel free to reach out to your coach or anyone from the UVM Athletics
staff, or send to
sportspr@uvm.edu.
Please be sure to take good care of yourself and be in touch if there's anything that we can do to help.

Student-Athlete FAQs
Q: Where can I find information about the University's Fall 2020 Return to Campus Plans?
A: All campus communication related to the University's Fall 2020 Return to Campus Plans can be found at
https://www.uvm.edu/returntocampus.
Q: What are the quarantine requirements for returning to Vermont?
A: For those returning to Vermont from out of state via plane, train, or bus will need to complete quarantine requirements in Vermont. Options are:
- 14-day quarantine
- 7-day quarantine followed by a negative COVID test
Those traveling from out of state who have the ability to drive directly to Vermont via car have five options:
- 14-day quarantine in Vermont
- 7-day quarantine in Vermont plus negative COVID test at day 7
- quarantine at home for 14 days followed by travel directly to Vermont
- quarantine at home for 7 days with a negative COVID test at home, followed by travel directly to Vermont
- quarantine is not required for travel from counties in New England with similar COVID case rates to Vermont, a map of approved counties is updated weekly on Friday and available at the following website https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/restart/cross-state-travel
If you have the option to quarantine at home and test prior to traveling to Vermont this is the preferred option to avoid delays with quarantining and testing upon arrival to Vermont.

Q: What are the testing requirements for returning to the University?
A: It is strongly preferred that all student-athletes complete COVID testing prior to resocialization with varsity teams. If a COVID test is not completed as part of a quarantine requirement it is strongly recommended to have a test completed within a week of rejoining teammates. Testing can be completed on campus via the student health center by:
There is currently a 2-5 day turnaround time on screening tests performed through the student health center.
Q: When can I return to campus to collect my belongings? What about my residential room?
A: All residential students have received an email from Residential Life with information about their specific move-out process. If you have questions about the move-out process, email
reslife@uvm.edu.
Q: What am I supposed to do about choosing my housing for next year?
A: The University is
still planning to go through the Housing Selection Process for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. The selection process is completed entirely online and does not require that a student is on-campus. Students will receive an email with more information detailing this process closer to the selection date and should be sure to monitor their UVM email.
Q: Will athletic facilities remain open?
A: All Campus Recreation/Athletic facilities will be CLOSED until further notice.
Q: Will the varsity athletic performance center remain open?
A: The Athletic Performance Center will be closed until further notice. Regular summer workouts will be distributed via the Trainheroic App. These workouts will be structured so that you will not need a facility to complete them and will serve as a way to maintain general physical preparedness until circumstances change. Feel free to contact your athletic performance coach with any specific questions.
Q:
Will Athletic Medicine be open for student-athlete use?
A: The Athletic Medicine staff may be available

Q: Does the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct still apply?
A: Yes, our expectations of student-athletes at home or on-campus at UVM remain the same.
Q: Is there specific information available for international student-athletes?
A: Please access information from the Office of International Education on a regular basis. Specific questions regarding travel, visa, or immigration should be addressed to that office.

Q: Will the Catamount Golf Classic still happen?
A: The Catamount Golf Classic will not take place on the originally scheduled date of Monday, May 18. We are exploring the feasibility of fall dates with Vermont National Country Club.
Q: What should I do with my department issued uniform and equipment?
A: For student-athletes who currently have team issued equipment, bags, uniforms or apparel we have the same expectations that you are responsible for those items. We do not have inventory to replace lost items and would have to bill you the cost to replace them. Due to the current situation, you have two options. First, if you are not returning to campus you may keep your items with you until you return. Your second option is if you are on campus you may return items - you can bring them to the equipment room or put them in your locker. Please understand if you are a returning student-athlete, when we resume sports activities you will be expected to have all items that were issued to you. If you are a senior or are not returning to UVM for any reason, please make arrangements with your coaches or with
Jerry Gernander (
gerald.gernander@uvm.edu, 802-656-6631) in the equipment room to return your team-issued items as soon as you are able. There are some team-specific communications you can expect from a member of your coaching staff or the equipment room.
Q: Will the equipment room continue laundry service?
A: During the time we are in a remote learning mode, with no team activities, the equipment room will not be providing laundry service to student-athletes who are on campus.
