Coach Kresge led the Catamounts to one of the best finishes in program history, compiling back-to-back 20+ win seasons, with 25 victories. Vermont earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2009-10 season. The 25 wins was just the fifth 25+ win season in program history and the most wins since the 2009-10 season. Their win total was third in New England behind only UMass and UConn. Kresge also led Vermont to their first America East regular season championship since 2001-02 and first America East tournament championship since 2009-10. Under Kresge's guidance this season the Catamounts set a program record with 15 home wins at Patrick Gymnasium.
Vermont went on a 17-game winning streak this season, their longest in 30 years, which was the longest winning streak in New England and the third longest in the country. Throughout the season the Catamounts paced the America East in three point percentage (36.5), shooting percentage (42.7), points per game allowed (54.1) and defensive field goal percentage (37.4). Their three-point shooting percentage was 19th and points per game allowed was 10th nationally.
Under Kresge the Catamounts earned three America East All-Conference members with Emma Utterback and Anna Olson each earning All-Conference First Team honors and Delaney Richason garnering All-Conference Third Team honors.
