Occupational Therapy Programs at UVM
Wednesday, August 4, 2021 4:00:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time - 4:30:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time
Occupational therapists work with a variety of patients to build or restore their abilities to perform daily tasks of life in diverse settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, outpatient settings, and even clients’ homes. Career opportunities for occupational therapists continue to grow and often outpace other careers in healthcare. Occupational Therapy is projected to grow by 16 percent within the next ten years. Whether you are looking for a career change, or need to complete prerequisites for an OTD program, this information session is for you.

The University of Vermont is launching a new entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy program. Students will start to be admitted this fall (2021) and the first cohort will start in the fall of 2022. UVM’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate is the first of its kind in Vermont. To prepare those students that may need to complete some prerequisite courses before applying, UVM also offers a specialized Occupational Therapy pre-OT track in its Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program. Students in this track will be well-positioned to apply to the UVM OT program upon successful completion of prerequisites.

In this info session, we’ll hear from Occupational Therapy Doctorate Interim Program Director, Victoria Priganc, Ph.D. on how UVM’s program will incorporate traditional classroom and online learning with experiential and community-based training.
